I’ve been a big fan of Pandora for a while now. Its music recommendation system is awesome. Essentially, you enter a song or artist and the system plays similar artists or songs. You fine tune your “station” by giving thumbs up or down to each song. Unfortunately, it’s not technically available in Canada.
I was very pleased when a friend recommended Groove Shark. I’m not yet sure whether I like their algorithm for recommending similar music. It seems to frequently produce entirely dissimilar suggestions. On the up side, if you want to hear something, you can play specific songs whenever you want. There are widgets to embed songs or play lists, too!
Seems too good to last.

Great choice for a song.

Found out about Jonathan Coulton on This Week in Tech (TWiT); pretty good artist. Groove Shark seems pretty cool; not sure if I’ll use it with any regularity, but it was able to find every rare thing I threw at it (including Thé à la Menthe by Nikkfurie, which was missing from the Ocean’s 12 soundtrack).
