“… the fateful release of Durin’s Bane … ” WTF?
It sounds like they’re going back in time a bit here? Is this expansion to be set in the 2nd Age? Wasn’t the Balrog released when the Longbeards delved too deep for Mithril in the 2nd age? According to Wikipedia, Durin’s Bane was released in the year 1980 of the 2nd age. And the fellowship wasn’t until the year 3019. Please, Tolkien gurus, am I wrong? Or am I misreading?
On one hand, I’m really looking forward to this. Moria has the potential to be an absolutely awesome setting. Of all the settings in the book, it’s the one I strove hardest to imagine.
Personally, I’d like to see Moria both ways. As the shining underworld city of Durin’s clan and as the dark orc-fested halls the fellowship passed through.
While we were discussing, Tachevert had a great idea … a no-win raid. You enter and face growing waves of Orc until you wipe! Perhaps reputation points earned for making deeper and deeper forays. You don’t often see intentional no-win situations in a MMORPG.
On the other hand, I will die a little inside every time I see ‘LFF Durin’s Bane PST’
